Snowfall occurs mostly in light to moderate amounts during the winter, totaling 36 inches (91 cm). Precipitation, at 24.3 inches (617 mm) annually, is concentrated in the warmer months. Extremes range from −41 °F (−41 °C) as recently as January 12, 1912 to 109 °F (43 °C) on July 24, 1940.
